The Walter Durham Camp Site is Finished!

The Walter Durham Camp Site, located on our site's Nature Trail, is the perfect gathering place to be utilized by local groups with smaller numbers!

The Eagle Scout project has taken a little less than a month to complete, with a great deal of planning and effort being put into the project, even before its execution. Sponsored by The Home Depot of Hendersonville, the camp site was built by Eagle Scout Brad McCorkle of Troop 157.

This charming nook off the main trail is the perfect spot to relax with family and friends. With an almost completely private view of the lake rolling into the shore, things don't seem much better than this!

Off to the side of the central camping area is a small fire pit for use by campers. The area itself has been smoothly cleared and mulched.

In the future, we hope to create additional camp sites on the property. This is more of a long-term goal; however, with the continued support and involvement of our community in projects at the Castle, this may very well be a strong possibility.

If you are interested in possibly using our Walter Durham Camp Site for a small family, church group, or friends camping trip, contact us at info@historicrockcastle.com for more information.

We hope to see you soon!
